An idea for teaching in person during COVID-19

I had a brainwave that I’d like to share with other music teachers who have gone back to in person teaching.

I have been wondering about how we can share music safely with our students as it’s not possible to clean sheet music – not unless you want it to go all crinkly! The issue came up during a piano lesson at school this week. A student had forgotten her music and I was wondering how I could let her use mine whilst keeping the transmission risk of COVID-19 low.

I found these A3 plastic wallet folders on the internet and they arrived today. They are ideal as the music fits in perfectly and I can easily wipe them clean in between students.

I hope you find this tip useful! I’d love to know your teaching tips for in person lessons.
